In the fourth day, we walked on some ridges of Mt.Mawenzi, and after we walked on wild land with bleak prospect. This landscape was very wonderful and one of the best landscape in this trip. Right after arriving Kibo Huts, I had
terrible diarrhea and it had never cured until leaveing for Uhuru Peak at 0:00 AM. I wondered if I can reach the top of Mt.Kilimanjaro....

Morning in Horombo Huts
Flow of water was frozen.

Bird view from Kibo Huts to Uhuru Peak (Google earth)

In the fifth day, we attempted to scale Mt.Kilimanjaro from 0:00 AM. I continuously had
terrible diarrhea and I did'nt expect to reach the top of Mt.Kilimanjaro. Firstly it wasn't so hard , but after surmount 5500m, It got severely cold and thin of oxygen. I was suffering from exhaustion from diarrhea, cold, and rack of oxygen. After walking for 5:30, we reached Gillman's Point(5690m) where is recognized as the summit of Mt.Kilimanjaro. Members of us had decreased from 12 to 8. Jou thankfully lend me one of her stocks, but unfortunately she had dropped out.

Rest continuously walk for the top of AFRICA Uhuru peak. It was very hard way because it got -9.5 degree and extremely thin of air. We could'nt continue to walk for 5 minite. After we repeated walk and stop for 1:40, we finally scale Uhuru peak(5895m). We were in great delight !!

After the summit, We came back to Horombo Huts(3780m) on the same day.

We got up at 23:00. Good morning ??
I wonder if I should challenge
or abandon to Kilimanjaro.
My terrible diarrhea had never cured.
We started at 0:00 AM.
It was not cold very much at this time.
In first rest. I was a little fine at that time.
In a rest at 2:26.
It got rapidly colder.
Bottom of my water started flozen.
We arrived at Gillman's Point at 5:30 AM
I was exhausted and limit to my patience.
But I continued to walk to Uhuru Peak.
Sunrise.
My guide give a shout to me
"Motoki, look!! that's sunrise."

I has forgot what time is it now.
The best sunrise in my life.
I got near to retire,
but kind guides and Jou's stick,
which Jou lend me before retired,
strongly supported me.
Glacier of Kilimanjaro. Glacier's color turned sunny yellow.

I reached Africa's highest point,
UHURU PEAK(5895m) at 7:15 AM.

With porter guide Doctor and Yusuke.

With my friends.
Only one of us (6 members) retired unfortunately.

I stood as if I was at South Pole. Japanese and Tanzanian frags.
We could stay at summit only 15 minits.
Because if we stayed for long time,
we got mountain sickness.
The biggest volcano hole in the world.
Closeup of clacier.
It was shining.

We had to go down on the same day.
I had ran out of my energy....
We go down the mountain
by running on sand.

It took 7 half hours in going up,
but 2 half hours in going down !!
After coming back to Kibo Huts,
we had a rest for some time
and leave for Horombo Huts again.
