Mt.Kilimanjaro Photo Gallery the first half (from day 1st to day 3rd)
Day 1st Arusha→Marangu gate(1830m)→Mandara Huts(2729m) Day 2nd Mandara Huts(2729m)→Horombo Huts(3780m) Day 3rd Horombo Huts(3780m)⇔Zebra Rock(4020m)
We climbed Mt.Kilimanjaro(5895m) from August 22 to 27, 2005 with my companions in hiking club . We used Bobby Tours(in Arusha) and chose 6 days tour including "a day for altitude acclimatization". This tour combined 2 parties, our party( 6 people) and England party(6 people), so this party had 12 people. Very big party !!

Day 1st (8/22/2005)/ From Marangu gate(1830m) to Mandara Huts(2729m)
In the first day, we walked in forest. I used a watch which could mesure air pressure, altitude, and tempareture, and I had recorded these over entire piriod. So I will show you all of the records.

<From Marangu gate to Mandara Huts>
In the second day, we continuously walked in forest. But height of trees became smaller and smaller and we could see Mt.Kilimanjaro. After walking 6 hours, we arrived at Horombo Huts. I started to dring Diamox from this morning until top of Kilimanjaro, which was effective to mountain sickness, so I never had mountain sickness.

We had to prepare sleeping bag
because there were only bed in Huts.Dinner

Day 2nd (8/23/2005)/ From Mandara Huts(2720m) to Horombo Huts(3720m)

and Mt.Mawenzi(5149m)(right).With sub-guide Lama. After sun rose higher,
it became warmer than morning.This flower's collor was gray
as if this flower was caught in forest fire.
But this is natural color.Lunch time on our way to Horombo Huts. My porter, Daniel.
There are many things in my bag,
so he had a little trouble....Shintaro with Simon.
Both of them were a little bit tired.Arrival at Horombo Huts(3720m)
I had many convinience(?) items with me.
So Josephine called me "gadget man" !Capacity of one Hut in Horombo Huts
is 6 people.There were mystery plants
around Horombo Huts.Dinner in Horombo Huts.
Rich amount of rice and fried chickens!After dinner, we could see star-filled night sky!!
Day 3rd (8/24/2005)/ From Horombo Huts(3720m) to Zebra rock(4020m) (go and return)
In the third day, we did'nt rise altitude for altitude accommodation. In this day, we just went to Zebra Rock(4020m) and return. We could see the rock whose color was like zebra. Due to this altitude accommodation day, nobody of us had symptom of mountain sickness before going to Kibo Huts(4703m).
In the Morning, at Horombo Huts. We could see beautiful cloud sea.
Only our party had altitude aclimtization day. We are full of energy and high-spirited !! I introduce my pictures in Japan like
Mt,Fuji and Kyoto to England members.
Similarly, Josephine told me sign

We could see good scenery.Flowers just only around Mt.Kilimanjaro. After coming back, we were free.
We were playng card game, chatting,
and adjusting porter's watch.Star-filled night sky!!
